Rosacea

Rosacea is a cronic skin condition which is present when redness on the nose, forehead, chin and cheeks is present. As this disease grows the redness then becomes permanent, the vessels begin to manifest on the cheek and nose along with tiny red bumps on other parts of the face.

Rosacea typically starts to become apparent at the age of 30, and it primary affects those who have light eyes and fair skin, as well as those who are prone to blush easily. Unfortunately Rosacea is a condition that only gets worse as time goes by and symptoms are usually seen in cycles, with periods of worsening followed by periods of remission.

By no means should Rosacea be confused with Acne that occurs in adolescence, as the factors that are responsible for them are totally different.

Although typically Rosacea starts at the age of 30, anyone between the age of 20 and 70 can be affected, and it is estimated that 3% to 10% of the population will be affected by Rosacea at some point of their lives. In Canada is it estimated that over two million Canadians are affected by Rosacea.
